The long arc
How I got to the mat
This is not a certification path and not a before-and-after. It’s the order of events I want to remember: stalling, showing up, finding a pace I can keep, and staying a student.

Before class[PLACEHOLDER — Diana] Season / year TBD
I was curious, and a little embarrassed about being curious
A friend mentioned pilates the way people mention flossing — something they meant to start. I had the usual story ready: I sit too much, I am not “a movement person,” I will begin when I am fitter. That sentence kept me still. I am writing this down so I remember the stall, not just the first class.
First class[PLACEHOLDER — Diana] Date TBD
I arrived early and still felt late
I did not know what to wear. I did not know if I would be the least flexible person in the room. I was. The teacher did not make a speech about it. We started with breath I thought I already knew how to do. I did not. That is the honest beginning — not a montage.
Finding a rhythm[PLACEHOLDER — Diana] Ongoing
Twice a week when I can, not when I “should”
I am trying not to turn this into a streak I can break and then abandon. Some weeks I get to the studio. Some weeks I put a mat on the floor at home and last twelve minutes. Both count. I am still deciding what consistency means when nobody is grading me.
Still openNow
Breath, patience, and not making this a personality
I do not have a certification to announce. I do not have a method to sell. The open questions are ordinary: how to breathe without performing calm, how to come back after a missed week, how to talk about pilates without sounding like I invented discipline. This page will stay a timeline of a student.
Later, if coaching exists, it will get its own page. This timeline stays a student record so the archive does not have to be rewritten.
